The Department of Physics within the Faculty of Physics at the University of Münster invites applications for a tenured

 

Full professorship in experimental physics (salary scale W3)


Research focus on nanoelectronics


to be filled as soon as possible.

 

Candidates are expected to have an outstanding international track record in the field of experimental nanoelectronics. The research program should strengthen and extend the current activities in nanoscience at the University of Münster, also in view of new collaborative research structures. A close collaboration within the research field of nanophysics at the University of Münster is expected. Possible areas of research include (opto-)electronic (quantum) transport and topological phenomena in solid-state nanosystems. The active participation in existing interdisciplinary research structures such as the Center for Nanotechnology (CeNTech) and the Center for Soft Nanoscience (SoN) is expected. Candidates are welcome to participate in planned collaborative research structures. Teaching obligations cover the whole area of experimental physics. Candidates are also expected to participate in the academic administration of the department.

 

Prerequisites for the application are a university degree in natural sciences, a PhD and excellent teaching skills as well as academic achievements as a Juniorprofessor (assistant professor), in a Habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, administration or other relevant fields in Germany or abroad.
