Job Description


The project is based on recent observations made with new 5-ALA derivatives developed in our laboratory. The goal of this project is to further improve these compounds for parenteral administration. The project consists of syntheses for the in vitro and in vivo evaluation of new compounds in collaboration with the senior researchers in our laboratory.


Title and required skills


A doctorate in organic chemical synthesis, in pharmaceutical chemistry, in therapeutic chemistry or an equivalent discipline. The candidate will have to learn new techniques and develop new lines of research. The successful candidate should have a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry, peptide synthesis and polymer synthesis. The ability to conduct research independently and excellent communication skills is essential.


The (the) postdoctoral researcher (s) will be a part-time assistantship support for students from 1 st cycle.

Job description

 

Based on recent observations with novel 5-ALA derivatives designed in our laboratory, the aim of the project is to further improve these compounds with respect to their systemic delivery. The project consists of the synthesis, in vitro, and in vivo, in collaboration with senior scientists in our laboratory.

 

Start:   01.10.2017

 

Duration:   1 year (renewable)

 

Supervision:   Prof. Norbert Lange

 

Requirements : PhD in synthetic organic chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, or medicinal chemistry, or a related discipline. The candidate will be expected to learn new techniques and develop new avenues of research. The successful candidate should have a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry, peptide synthesis and polymer synthesis. The knowledge in different labeling techniques will be an asset. The ability to conduct independent research and excellent communication skills are essential.

 

The Postdoctoral student will have a position of part-time assistant. He / she will participate in training and teaching for undergraduate students.

 

Salary:   The salary will follow the standards of the Geneva-Lausanne School of Pharmacy.
