Introduction

 

INL is seeking a qualified Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work on a project to deal with advanced solutions for porcelain products in a collaborative project between INL (Department of Nanoelectronics Engineering and Department of Micro and Nanofabrication) and Costa Verde Ceramics.   

Job Role & Key Responsibilities

The Post-doctoral Research Fellow will undertake the following main activities and responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions to minimize/mask metal marks arising from porcelain/cutlery interaction through surface micro-structuring;
  • Develop solutions to maintain a porcelain dish hot after inductive-microwave heating.

 

Job Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • PhD inApplied Physics, PhysicsEngineering or related technical fields;
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the topics:diffractive optics; optical coatings; inductive heating; thermal insulation;
  • International mobility experience will be valued.

 

Personal Skills

  • Strong motivation to work both independently and as part of a team in an interdisciplinary environment, with the ability to pay close attention to detail and to meet deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in the dissemination of results to the scientific community are expected;
  • Capable of establishing collaborative ties with distinguished academic groups and relevant industry partners.

 

Languages

 

  • English is the working language of INL. Therefore, excellent communication skills in English are required.
