The focus is on the detection of extrasolar planets and the numerical modeling of their atmospheres. Prof. Rauer is PI of the ESA PLATO Mission and co-PI of the ground-based NGTS Survey (Next Generation Transit Survey). This position is integrated into the NGTS project, an international collaboration with the Universities of Belfast, Cambridge, Leicester, Warwick (UK), the Observatoire de Geneve (CH), and the University of Antofagasta (Chile).
