5. Field of specialization


Magnetism (Experimental magnetism for developing new-types of magnetic and superconducting
materials and studying the fundamental properties.)


6. Teaching responsibilities


Undergraduate level (general education courses): Experimental Physics, etc.
Undergraduate level (discipline specific courses): Electricity and Magnetism, Solid State Physics,
etc.
Graduate level (master’s programs): Magnetism, Seminar for Quantum Matter, etc.
Graduate level (doctoral programs): PhD Work for Quantum Matter, etc.
In addition to the courses listed above, he or she may be asked to teach other general education
courses and/or discipline specific courses in other department(s) and graduate school(s).


7. Qualifications


Applicants must have all the following requirements:


(1) a PhD degree or an equivalent degree


(2) ability to supervise doctoral students in preparation of doctoral dissertations


(3) experience in supervising graduate students in a master’s and/or doctoral program(s) in
preparation of thesis/dissertation


(4) ability to teach classes and supervise students in English and Japanese.

professional career.


(2) List of publications (Number each article/book, give the Impact Factor and number of citation
such as IF = 3.718 (168) for SCI papers. Affix an asterisk (*) to the numbers of your five major
publications. List prizes, awards, invited and/or organized conferences, etc. in the last five
years)


(3) Five major publications (Reprints, photocopies, or books)

 

(4) Summary of research accomplishments (no more than 3 pages)


(5) Major educational activities and teaching experience (one page)


(6) Major social contributions (one page)


(7) Major activities in university/institutional management and administration (one page)


(8) List of acquired external funding over the last five years


(9) Statement of intent (Please describe your interests in teaching and research in two pages, should
you take this position.)


(10) List of two persons including e-mail address and phone number for reference

11. Selection procedure


(1)Selection will be made based on all application documents submitted.


(2)Interviews including simulated lessons in English will be conducted as needed. Applicants who
pass the initial document review will be informed of interview date, time and format. Travel
expenses will be the responsibility of the applicant.

12. Salary, etc.


(1) The monthly salary system or annual salary system will be applied to successful candidates.


(2) Successful candidates may be reimbursed for travel expenses incurred for the trip from their home
or former place of work to Hiroshima University.


13. Evaluation


We conduct individual performance evaluations for all faculty members after their employment,
numerically rate their performance, and salary and benefits are commensurate with performance
indicators.
