The opportunity for promotion is given.

The collaborative project MikroPlaTaS investigates the importance of dams and reservoirs for the transport of microplastics in limnic ecosystems and the influence of the interactions of microplastics, biofilms and organisms. In the position advertised here, the sedimentation rates of microplastics and the effects of the biofilm colonization of plastic on benthic invertebrates are to be investigated in cooperation with the other partners.

Task description:

Ecotoxicological and physiological analysis of the effects of the uptake of microplastics on benthic invertebrates (macrozoobenthos) and the indirect effect on invertebrates by influencing biofilms.
Determination of Sedimentation Rates of Microplastics and Macrozoobenthos Settlement in the Field.
Prerequisites for hiring are a MSc or Diploma degree in Ecology, Ecotoxicology, Limnology, Biology or similar fields with sound knowledge of aquatic ecology or animal ecology. Experience in experimental laboratory and field work is expected. Knowledge of the determination of the macrozoobenthos is an advantage.
