The Department of Geography at the University of Manchester seeks to appoint a permanent Lecturer in Geographical Information Science (GISci) with expertise in physical geography. You should be a specialist in GIS and/or Remote Sensing and be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of applying geographical information science to physical geography and/or related environmental disciplines. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct excellent research and teaching that complements the research themes of the Environmental Processes research group as well as help shape the GIScience research agenda within the recently-formed Mapping: Culture and GIScience research group. We would particularly welcome applications from specialists in spatial modelling/analysis of environmental processes (e.g. in hydrology, geomorphology, ecology/ecosystems, meteorology, climatology, or air pollution/quality etc.) and/or human-environment interactions.
