Chemistry offers a position as
Research Associate /PhD Position

(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
in a BMBF funded project „Neuartige Katalysatoren aus Reststoffen für die Nutzung fossiler
und biogener Rohstoffe in der Erdölraffinerie“ (ReCaLl) starting as soon as possible. The
position entails 50 % of the fulltime weekly hours and is limited until 31.08.2020. The period
of employment is governed by Fixed Term research Contracts Act
(Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain
further academic qualification (e.g. PhD).

Tasks: Independent research topic work, leading to the exploration of structure-effect
relationships by labor-scale catalytic testing of industrial solid-acids, their fully analyticchemical
characterization as well as their application and optimization of preceding
synthesis, post-synthesis and industrial shaping procedures.

Requirements: university degree (Master or equivalent) in chemistry; an integrative and
cooperative personality with high teamwork abilities, self-motivation skills and organizational
talent; interest in application-oriented chemical research; deep knowledge in heterogeneous
catalysis, preferably concerning following topics: zeolites, “Fluid Catalytic Cracking” (FCC)
and solid-acid characterization; experience in statistical data evaluation as well as in kinetic
and mechanistic analysis of complex reaction network; PC, Microsoft Office and chemical
software handling knowledge.
