Kyoto University Research Reactor Institute (Faculty Consort of Multidisciplinary Nuclear Science and
Technology) invites applications for a Professor position, as described below.

Kyoto University Research Reactor Institute (KURRI) was established for the joint use program
among Japanese universities to promote the research and education in the fields of nuclear reactors and
related subjects, consisting of three departments and two research centers. The Kyoto University research
Reactor (KUR) and related research facilities have been used for reactor usage and neutron applications as
well as fundamental research on an accelerator driven system.

II. Research division:
Research Center for Safe Nuclear System
(Division of Nuclear Disaster Prevention System)

III. Job description:
The successful candidate is expected to play important roles in research and education on nuclear
disaster prevention system including nuclear safety using the advanced scientific knowledge and technology.
In addition, he/she should engage in administration of the nuclear safety in the KURRI.

IV. Qualification:
The successful candidate should hold PhD or MD doctoral degree.

2. Brief summary of research and a list of academic publications (divided clearly into refereed
journal papers and others), together with major 5 publications (6 reprints or photocopies)
3. Recommendation letters by references (It is possible to offer oneself.)
4. Statement of research plans and interests, describing research experiences on related areas.
5. Description on other activities (on research funds, academic society and social activities),
together with the names of some references (including addresses, phone numbers and e-mail

publications) should also be submitted in the form of CD-ROM or USB memory.

IX. Starting date:

X. Business hours:
Discretionary labor system, based on 7 hours, 45 minutes (8:30–17:15 work
schedule with a one-hour break) per day, 38 hours 45 minutes per week.
Days off: Saturdays, Sundays, National holidays, Year-end and New Year
holidays, Foundation Day, and summer vacation.

XI. Salary and Allowance:
To be determined in accordance with Kyoto University regulations.
