The Faculty of Science is conducting research and education in biology, astronomy, physics, geoscience, chemistry, mathematics and environmental science. The activities are conducted at ten institutions gathered in the northern university area. The Faculty has approximately 1900 students, 330 graduate students and 700 employees.


Interactions between sugar beet and Trichoderma


Trichoderma fungi are beneficial to plants via several mechanisms that are only partially known. The postdoctor will study components (especially plant genes and volatile substances from fungi) that promote sugar beet growth and the agricultural benefits derived from the plant's symbiosis with Trichoderma strains. The project's approach will include translation of knowledge from a model plant, transcriptomic and phenotypic sugar beet analysis, and MS-based identification of volatile signal compounds. The postdoctor will conduct independent bioinformatic and experimental work, and also participate in the supervision of students in the project.






  • The applicant must have a doctorate in plant biology.
  • The course must include courses in plant physiology / plant cell biology, genetics and biochemistry or equivalent.
  • The applicant must have a documented experience in plant science methodology including plant cultivation in soil and sterile systems, phenotyping, genotyping, RNA transcriptome sequencing, PCR, qRT-PCR, fluorescence microscopy (including confocal image analysis), and chromatography-linked mass spectrometry analyzes of volatile compounds and macromolecules.
  • Applicants must have substantial experience in bioinformatics and database analyzes, but programming skills are not required.
  • The applicant must be very skilled in speaking and writing English.



  • The applicant should have experience of plant-fungus interaction systems.
  • Applicants should be able to independently plan and implement projects.
  • The applicant should have experience in supervising students at the first level or at the first level.
  • Applicants should have a good list of publications within a research area relevant to the project.
