The University of Manchester is leading in the field of 3D particle detectors (Dr. Alexander Oh). The medium term goal is to establish 3D diamond technology for tracking detectors in high-radiation environments and micro-dosimetry for radiation therapy applications. The post is located in the Particle Physics Group and you will collaborate closely with the Laser Processing Research Centre and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester.


You should have a PhD (or equivalent) in particle physics instrumentation (or a related discipline), or an Engineering degree. You should also have experience with Silicon or Diamond particle detector development. Experience with detector characterization techniques and Technology Computer Aided Design would be desirable.
