A Research Associate Position
at the Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP), the University of Tokyo

The ISSP is seeking outstanding candidates for a research associate position in the International
MegaGauss Science Laboratory. The successful candidate will collaborate with Prof. K. Kindo
and open up frontiers in the high magnetic field science by pioneering work in development of
high field magnet and experimental technique and/or outstanding study under pulsed high
magnetic field. The successful candidate is also expected to play an important role in the
joint-research program with outside researchers. The initial appointment is for five years, and
is extended for five more years if the performance is satisfactory. The position is now open, and
the term should start at the earliest possible date.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field, or otherwise must get a
degree before the starting date of appointment. Applications should include the following
documents prepared either in English or Japanese and should be sent by post or alternatively

1) CV with photo including academic record and professional career
2) Complete list of publications (mark three most important papers)
3) Copy of the three papers marked above
4) Summary of research accomplishments (up to two pages)
5) Research plan (up to two pages).
