University of Copenhagen

The Niels Bohr Institute is expanding its research activities in particle physics ( and invites applications for an Associate Professorship in Experimental Neutrino Physics & Astrophysics. The Associate Professor will join the department’s ‘Discovery Center’ ( which is engaged with both accelerator & non-accelerator experiments for fundamental physics. In particular NBI is a member of the IceCube collaboration and of its proposed future extensions & upgrades (Gen-2/PINGU). This experiment has recently discovered high energy cosmic neutrinos and also made competitive measurements of neutrino oscillations using atmospheric neutrinos. The NBI IceCube Group ( includes both experimentalists and theorists, interested in astrophysical as well as particle physics issues relating to neutrinos.

The areas of particular interest for the experimental programme include development of Cherenkov light detectors, advanced analysis and reconstruction techniques and neutrino oscillation physics. However, outstanding applicants working in all areas of neutrino astroparticle physics will be considered.
