Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking to appoint a research associate position in palaeo-environmental trace element geochemistry to be held at the Department of Earth Sciences at UCL.

The successful candidate will conduct trace element analysis of planktonic foraminifera samples (already prepared) from the Miocene, interpret the results in context of foraminiferal ecology, and work with project partners (Cardiff University) in the investigation of oceanic water column geochemical processes, and the interpreting spatial and temporal changes in water column ecology and carbon cycling since the middle Miocene worldwide.

The post is funded by the NERC for 12 months in the first instance.
