Postdoc in carbohydrate oxidizing enzymes


The post doc will primarily work within a project focused on lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases. The research tasks include basic enzymology of lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases as well as detailed investigation of factors controlling the substrate affinity. Of special interest will be the ability of lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases to oxidize non-carbohydrates.  


The postdoc’s duties will include research within lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases as well as teaching. The post may also include performance of other duties.  


The preferred candidate must have the following qualifications:  

  • Phd in biophysical chemistry or similar  

  • Experience in protein chemistry and oxidative processes ( oxygenases, oxidases, peroxidases) preferably with copper enzymes.  

  • Experience in analytical chemistry and hands-on experience with calorimetry and spectroscopy (ITC, EPR, NMR, UV-VIS, fluorescence ) and liquid chromatography (HPAEC, HPLC, FPLC).  

  • Experience in developing and optimizing novel enzyme assays, preferably witn oxidative enzymes.  

  • Good teamworking skills, preferably with experience in managing a research lab.

Terms of employment  

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.  


Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.  


The starting salary is currently up to DKK 419.772 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 71.781). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
