A Full Professor Position at the Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP), the University of Tokyo
The ISSP invites outstanding candidates for a full professor position in Functional Materials Group and Division of Condensed Matter Theory. The successful candidate will be in charge of non-equilibrium condensed-matter theory.
The Number of Open Positions and Affiliation:
One tenured Full Professor in the Functional Materials Group and the Division of Condensed Matter Theory
Research Subject:
The ISSP seeks an outstanding candidate who develops non-equilibrium condensed-matter theory in close collaboration with experimental groups, and aims at the development of basic science of dynamical and non-equilibrium phenomena in functional materials. He/she is expected to have strong enthusiasm for new leadership in synergetic researches between theoretical and experimental communities.
The ISSP established the Functional Materials Group as of October 1, 2016, as one of two new trans-divisional and interdisciplinary research groups, and makes special emphasis on researches of excited states and dynamics in functional systems. Moreover, ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy of excited states and non-equilibrium states is in great progress on the basis of ISSP extreme lasers. The ISSP needs a non-equilibrium condensed-matter theorist, who plays a key role in strong interdisciplinary collaborations related to these experimental researches.
