Assistant Professor in Relativistic Astrophysics

 

The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy (FKF) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense invites applications for a position as assistant professor in Relativistic Astrophysics. The position is a three-year position. 

FKF has a strong physics programme with international leading researchers within Cosmology, Particle Physics, Mathematical Physics, Non-linear Quantum Optics and the Physics of Biological Systems. 

This assistant professor position will be associated with the Danish National Research Foundation's centre of excellence “Cosmology and Particle Physics Phenomenology, CP3” and will be part of the department's recently established education in Astronomy.

The successful candidate must have an MSc and PhD in Physics.

A proven peer-reviewed research record could for example be within (but not limited to):
• Gravitational waves
• Black holes
• Radiation
• Theoretical modelling

The candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in the department’s study programme in Physics and Astronomy. This also includes supervision of dissertation projects for BSc and MSc students. Teaching experience is therefore expected. 

The position is to be filled by 1 January 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. Application deadline: 15 October 2019.

Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Please check links for more information on salary and taxation.

• A brief survey of the applicant's most important research results and research plans for the next three years.

Please note that applicants are expected to have completed their PhD.
