The Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time, three-year contractually limited term appointment (CLTA) at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in the area of organic chemistry. The appointment is anticipated to begin January 1, 2024. An additional two-year renewal may be possible.
Applicants must have earned a PhD degree in Chemistry, with expertise in synthetic organic chemistry by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter. We seek candidates whose teaching interests complement and strengthen our existing departmental strengths (www.chemistry.utoronto.ca). Candidates must have demonstrated teaching excellence and have teaching expertise in a degree granting program at the undergraduate program level. Experience in curricular development activities, coordinating laboratories, and supervising teaching assistants at the university level would be an asset. Candidates are preferred who possess a demonstrated commitment to novel and impactful pedagogical methods, and a demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activities.
