This position will support the Department of Chemistry’s efforts to redesign the general chemistry laboratories to better integrate with the lecture course, foster an inquiry-based approach to learning in the chemistry laboratory, and introduce students to how to think like a scientist. ·       Development of a pedagogy consistent with the college curriculum redesign values focused on inquiry and data analysis and scale

·       Launch of a  300-student pilot for the 2023-24 academic year

The Chemistry Education Fellow will be hired and supervised by the Department of Chemistry Associate Chair for Undergraduate education and the Director of General Chemistry labs.  The first year of support for the position will be provided by a grant from College of Natural Sciences Office of STEM Education Excellence but it is anticipated that the position will evolve into a recurring teaching position funded by the instructional  budget.
