Non-tenure Academic Clinician Track


The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of clinical experience in adaptive therapy, advanced imaging, scripting, automation and software development. Demonstration of clinical translation of research/new technology is essential. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. ABR board eligibility in therapeutic radiological physics is required, and ABR board certification is preferred or expected within the first two years.

Teaching Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities may include include the teaching and training of radiation oncology residents, medical physics residents, medical physics graduate students, etc.

Clinical Responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities may include supporting a full range of clinical physics activities, such as linac-based radiation therapy, brachytherapy, proton therapy, etc. at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine.

About Penn Radiation Oncology

Penn Radiation Oncology is dedicated to a three-part mission of excellence in patient care, basic and translational research, and the education of residents and medical students. Penn Medicine delivers a broad range of radiation therapy services to its patients, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, partial breast irradiation, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS/SBRT using Gamma Knife /Cyberknife/Varian Linac).

Patients will also have access to proton therapy at the Roberts Proton Therapy Center, housing the largest proton therapy facility in the USA, comprising four gantry treatment rooms and one fixed beam room. Penn Radiation Oncology is not only committed to delivering high-quality radiation therapy, but also to enhancing and improving upon the patient experience by providing a full range of clinical services.

An integral component of the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Radiation Oncology, can draw upon the center's full resources to deliver the best possible overall care.
