This is a full-time, 100% appointment. The position will be in the Weak Interaction group in the Physics Department of U.C. Berkeley. The group focuses on searches for Lepton Number and Lepton Flavor violating processes with the CUORE and CUPID experiments at Gran Sasso, Italy, and Mu2e experiment at Fermilab. The job duties and responsibilities of this position include research and development of the novel instrumentation for nuclear and particle physics experiments. In particular, lead the development of the state-of-the-art bolometric detectors for the CUPID experiment, organization and operations of the local bolometric R&D facility, organization of the effort to test and commission front-end electronics boards for the Mu2e experiment, develop new simulation and analysis tools for the searches for lepton number violation with CUORE, CUPID, and Mu2e. Prepare high-profile publications, prepare annual reports to the Department of Energy, and assist in developing funding proposals.
