£27025 to £39609 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £30,395 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

Business Science Fellowships provide an opportunity for suitably qualified individuals to develop further their business, innovation and entrepreneurial skills while working on a range of knowledge exchange and industry related projects. This Fellowship will focus upon developing and delivering a portfolio of business/industry related projects in the areas of Analytical and Sustainable chemistry. These may involve liaising with companies and academics, co-ordinating/undertaking laboratory/analytical work on industry related projects, IP protection and commercialisation and organising the University's contribution to research/technology showcase events. 


Candidates must have or be about to complete a PhD or equivalent in chemistry or a related discipline and experience of working on industry related projects. Experience and understanding of analytical chemistry techniques and an ability to apply this knowledge to solve technical problems is essential. An understanding of the principles of Sustainable Chemistry and the process by which novel technologies are protected, evaluated and developed into realisable commercial opportunities will be an advantage. Candidates should be keen to advance their knowledge of business practices for which some training will be provided. 


The post is available immediately and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of one year. This post is open to job share; please specify the hours that you would be prepared to work.
