DESCRIPTIONImaging Specialist- Larsen Lab An imaging specialist position is available at the University of California, San Francisco. The specialist will join a team that provides support across 3 newly merged microscopy core facilities on the UCSF Mission Bay campus including the Nikon Imaging Center at UCSF, the Center for Advance Multiphoton Microscopy, and the Cardiovascular Research Institute Microscopy Core. These 3 facilities provide access to 14 state-of-the-art microscopes for use by the UCSF community and serve over 400 scientists a year. The successful candidate will be one of the initial points of contact for users seeking to use the core facility and will be responsible for advising them on the choice of microscope for their experiment, provide training on the microscopes, and assist in troubleshooting. Strong technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service is extremely important. This individual will also be responsible for routine cleaning and maintenance of microscopes, testing of microscope performance, and troubleshooting problems with the microscopes. Within these parameters, the successful candidate will have considerable freedom which could include collaborations with users.
