This appointment will be in either the Professor of Clinical “X” series, the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series, or the Professor-in-Residence series, at either the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: Located at the University of California, Irvine Cancer Center in Irvine, California, California, the Department of Radiation Oncology is an integral part of the NCI-designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Department is equipped with a robust blend of technology, including a dedicated HDR brachytherapy suite and an intraoperative unit. Further equipment upgrades are planned. The Department features a four-year Radiation Oncology residency training program and a two-year Medical Physics residency. The Department has an active Radiation Biology Division that currently ranks among the top programs in the nation concerning NIH funding. The Department participates in NRG/RTOG and SWOG and encourages investigator-initiated clinical and translational trials. The Division has undergone a transformative change with current and future site expansion in recent years.
