The Bothell campus of the University of Washington was founded as an innovative, interdisciplinary campus within the University of Washington system — one of the premier institutions of higher education in the US. Faculty members have full access to the resources of a major research university, with the culture and close relationships with students of a small college. Situated just 20 miles from downtown Seattle in the midst of the Pacific Northwest's technology corridor — one of the largest and most dynamic software and technology industry concentrations in the world — UWB offers unmatched opportunities for collaborative work with industry and an excellent environment for developing creative approaches to teaching, research, and community collaborations. We offer a participatory student experience grounded in hands-on learning, close relationships with faculty members as teachers and mentors, and the personalized support of staff who are dedicated to student success. The academic work of the campus focuses on cross-disciplinary research and creative practice, connected learning, and community engagement. UW Bothell’s current enrollment is approximately 6,000 students. More than 90 percent of undergraduates are from Washington State, and approximately half are first-generation college attendees or come from underrepresented groups. Located along wetlands and a river north of Seattle, UW Bothell builds vibrant regional partnerships, creates and disseminates new knowledge, and prepares students for leadership throughout Washington and beyond.

The School of STEM is the fastest-growing school at UW Bothell. As we grow, we are committed to attracting diverse faculty and staff who put students first. Seventy-five percent of UW Bothell faculty use students in their research. We offer fifteen undergraduate degrees, three graduate degrees, two graduate certificates, and seven minors within the four Divisions of Biological Sciences, Computing and Software Systems, Engineering and Mathematics, and Physical Sciences. Our 74,000 square-foot Discovery Hall teaching and laboratory facility, which includes eleven new science and engineering laboratories, opened in Summer 2014.
