The Department of Chemistry seeks applicants for a one-year, full-time position as Organic Chemistry Lab Instructor and Coordinator. The instructor/coordinator will support the goals of the department by coordinating the organic chemistry laboratory program, supporting students enrolled in the labs, and teaching two weekly sections of the lab per semester (Fall, CHM 222L and Spring, CHM 221L). The instructor/coordinator will work closely with other faculty, both full-time and part-time, to ensure quality and consistency across the 5-6 weekly lab sections offered in each semester. The instructor/coordinator will also work closely with the lab manager, who is responsible for chemicals, equipment, and experimental set-up. In conjunction with the lab manager, the instructor/coordinator will mentor work-study students, who serve as lab assistants before, during, and after the lab sessions.

Ph.D. in organic chemistry or a closely-related field, or M.S. in chemistry with significant experience working in organic chemistry and teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred.
We are particularly interested in candidates with lab teaching experience at the undergraduate level, excellent scientific writing skills, and effective managing and organizational skills.
