The Department of Chemistry invites applicants for a PhD fellowship in chemistry. The project is part of the research project “DNA-stabilized silver nanoclusters as new emitters in the tissue transparent NIR-II region.”, which is financed by NovoNordisk Start date is (expected to be) 1 October 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The project The PhD candidate will explore DNA-AgNCs emitting in the NIR II region. These new emitters will provide new tools for optical tomography and tissue imaging. Besides practical applications, the project will also tackle fundamental questions trying to unravel the structure/property relationship of this class of emitters. Who are we looking for? Terms of employment in the regular programme Employment as PhD fellow is full time and for maximum 3 years. Employment is conditional upon your successful enrolment as a PhD student at the PhD School at the Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen. Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
