PhD in Organic Chemistry at the Research Department Université Le Havre Normandie Research Department DIRVED France

This project aims at expanding the synthetic utility of a relatively unexplored topic and recently initiated in our group: the generation of phosphiranium ions (an unknown class of cationic phosphorus substrates) by quaternarization of phosphiranes and their C‑centered ring-opening with nucleophiles. The evaluation of unprecedented sequences of phosphiraniums generation / nucleophilic ring-opening, annelation processes involving ambivalent (dipolar) reaction partners and organocatalytic strategies is planned. Besides, a part of the study will be directed towards a better understanding of these unknown species reactivity. This project will be part of an ANR program and will be carried out in collaboration with Dr. Sami Lakhdar from LCMT (Laboratoire de Chimie Moléculaire et Thio-organique - Equipe Calipso - Caen) specialized in heterochemistry (phosphorus and sulfur) and physical organic chemistry.
