Ph.D. in the Preparation of Organic Materials for Plastic Electronics
Université de Montréal

A financed Ph.D. position is available in the research group of Photophysical Characterization of Conjugated Materials at the Université de Montréal. The research will focus on the synthesis and characterization of aromatic heterocycles for self-healing stretchable opto-electronic applications (electrochromic devices, light emitting diodes, photovoltaics). During the course of the thesis, the student will learn advanced synthetic and characterization skills. The student will be trained in steady-state and time-resolved spectroscopy and electrochemistry. The student will also fabricate and characterize opto-electronic devices.

Offer Requirements

Specific Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience in either organic synthesis or polymer synthesis. Candidates will also have previous experience in purifying compounds and working with air-sensitive reagents/products. Canadidates must have a good understanding and experience with standard characterization techniques including NMR and MS. Candidates should have also successfully completed a four-month work-placement (stage).c
