PhD position in Environment and Sustainability University of Exeter United Kingdom

The project is a part of recently funded EPSRC project entitled Advanced Building Façade Design for Optimal Delivery of End Use Energy Demand. This college funded studentship aims to develop, synthesise and characterise inorganic materials for the application into solar powered smart glazing systems. The development of smart glazing plays a significant contribution to reduce the energy consumption of the buildings. Inhouse develop integration strategies will be undertaken for device level system integration and synthesis of the molecules to enhance their transmission through wide range of solar spectrum. Inorganic materials will be tuned through various processes to optimise solar spectrum for reducing their absorption, colour rendering and increase visual impacts. Manipulation of morphological structure and its effect to the overall efficiency of the devices will be characterised through A+A+A+ solar simulators in the University. In addition, the materials will be characterised through SEM, TEM, XRD for optimising its properties.
