Job Description
Within the PhD project, theoretical and experimental meta-surfaces with coupled resonances will be investigated. One goal is the (dynamic) spatio-temporal control of light with high efficiency in transmission or reflection. The work is being carried out in close cooperation with the cluster of excellence "Quantum Frontiers" together with the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt and the Leibniz Universität Hannover.


High motivation and very good university degree in physics or related subjects (Master or equivalent)
Ability to work independently and to overcome challenges
pronounced communication and team skills
Skills in German and English spoken and written
Physical capability for working in the laboratory and for work outside the institute
Previous knowledge in one or more of the following areas is advantageous: light-matter
interaction in micro- and nanoscale systems (e.g., waveguides, metamaterials, ...) and corresponding characterization techniques (e.g., optical spectroscopy), micro- / nanosystem engineering


The position should be filled at the earliest possible date and for the time being limited to 3 years with option for extension. The employer is the TU Braunschweig. Remuneration is based on the fee group E 13 TVL (75%). The TU Braunschweig aims to increase the proportion of women in the scientific staff and therefore asks women in particular to apply.
