Strong research and attractive study programmes attract scientists and students from around the world. With new knowledge and new perspectives, the University contributes to a better future.

Research and graduate education at the department of chemistry and molecular biology comprises a wide scientific field from the atomic and molecular levels all the way through cells to intact organisms. Much of the phenomena studied here impact on our natural environment and living systems. We participate in undergraduate programs in chemistry, molecular biology, medicinal chemistry, biology, marine sciences, and pharmacy.

Our group tries to address the fundamental question of how pairing and recombination of homologous chromosomes are regulated on the molecular level during mammalian meiosis using the mouse as our model system. We employ a combination of genetic, molecular, cytological, and biochemical approaches.

Job assignments

The applicant is expected to study the chromosome dynamics in mammalian meiosis using a combination of biochemistry, cell and molecular biology approaches using both mammalian cell culture cell lines and mouse as model systems. Analysis will include genetic engineering, recombinant protein expression, protein:protein interaction and immuno-staining assays.
