Postdoc in Environmental Systems Analysis (m/w/d, E13 TV-L, 100%)

which can be filled at the earliest possible date. 

Employment is for 3 years (see details below). Extension to 6 years in total is possible. The salary is according to the civil service pay TV-L E13 (100%).

You are currently finishing your doctoral thesis or would like to join a dynamic research group during your postdoctoral time? You would like to realize your own ideas within an interdisciplinary team? You are highly motivated to contribute to solutions for pressing environmental challenges? Then this is your unique opportunity! We are looking for a dedicated scientist to actively contribute to the interdisciplinary research program of the work group “Environmental Systems Analysis”.

The specific area of expertise is open, but the candidate’s research area should be integrated into and complement with the current research activities of the work group with special emphasize on the combined chemical and biological impacts of human activities in surface water environments (e.g. pollution of rivers with organic chemicals, land-use change). Expertise in environmental modelling, experimental laboratory and/or field research is especially welcome.

The Department of Geosciences enjoys an internationally excellent reputation in applied environmental research. The work group is, among others, actively involved in the Cluster of Excellence TERRA – Terrestrial Geo-Biosphere Interactions in a Changing World. Close collaborations with other large research institutions in Germany as well as with international partners from universities and NGOs exist.

Minimum requirements for filling the position are a doctoral degree and a distinguished record in research. Educational skills are desired since the successful candidate is expected to teach courses in the B.Sc. and M.Sc. programmes of the Department of Geosciences at the University of Tübingen. Acquisition of third-party funds and (co-)supervision of doctoral students will be welcome.
