Salary: $40,000 plus benefits

 

The Derksen Group in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry.

 

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be primarily focused on synthetic chemistry in a laboratory setting. The candidate will be required to work within a team consisting of a research associate, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students and will be expected to provide leadership to junior lab members, assist in writing manuscripts, while working to complete their own projects. Strong communication and writing skills are essential.

 

Qualifications:

PhD in chemistry completed within the last 3-years, relating to the preparation of organic molecules. Applicants set to complete their PhD before Sept 2019 are also encouraged to apply. Previous experience in successfully completing organic syntheses is essential but could be related to type of organic molecules (total synthesis, medicinal chemistry, methodology).
