The group investigates a broad range of topics using analytical and numerical methods, including: Effective field theory Topological solitons Statistical mechanics of phase transitions Topological systems Quantum many-body techniques Current research includes: Emerging field of composite order, including electron quadrupling condensates and fractional magnetic flux quantum defects New quantum symmetry-breaking and topologically ordered states Unconventional phase transitions Applications of advanced methods like Diagrammatic Monte-Carlo Collaboration with local and international theoretical and experimental groups is encouraged. Supervision Main Supervisor: Professor Egor Babaev Co-supervisor: Pär Olsson Admission Requirements Applicants must have: Completed a second-cycle degree (Master’s) or equivalent qualifications (240 higher education credits, including 60 second-cycle credits) English proficiency equivalent to English B/6 Selection Criteria: Candidates will be evaluated on their ability to: Work independently Collaborate effectively Approach tasks professionally Analyze and solve complex problems Personal skills are highly emphasized.
