The Nuclear Physics Group is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate with experience in laser spectroscopy for nuclear structure studies. While having the opportunity to support a wider research programme, your focus will be experimental work at the University of Jyvaskyla Accelerator Laboratory, Finland, where the position will be based. In particular, you will be responsible for preparing experimental proposals, leading collinear laser spectroscopy experiments, analysing and interpreting the data, and publishing the results in a timely manner. These activities will sometimes include helping to supervise postgraduate students and driving developments of the technique. You will also be expected to advertise the work of the collaboration at international conferences. You should have a PhD in experimental nuclear physics with experience of high-resolution laser spectroscopy, experimental nuclear structure research and analysis of optical spectra. The post is available until 30th September 2021. Closing date: 6 August 2019
