Faculty in the LSOE / SLSOE are Academic Senate members whose expertise and responsibilities center on undergraduate education, as well as scholarly analysis and improvement of teaching. We are seeking outstanding teachers who wish to have a permanent, full-time instructional position on an academic-year basis. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics (any area) or a closely related scientific field. Doctorate must be in hand prior to the time the appointment begins. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field and demonstrated potential for a recognized program of excellence in both teaching and physics education. Candidates must have a record of excellence in teaching, and strong writing and interpersonal skills. In addition, successful candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion in higher education. A successful candidate must have a well-articulated plan of contributing to programs that increase the access and success of underrepresented students and faculty in the sciences. We especially welcome candidates who have already participated in, contributed to, or created such programs, and can articulate how this experience helped shape their plan. Candidates should present any previous experience having served as a role model in mentoring others.
