Research Assistant in Experimental Quantum Information at the Center for Quantum Devices and Microsoft Quantum Copenhagen

The Center for Quantum Devices and Microsoft Quantum Copenhagen at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, are seeking one, or possibly more, research assistants to contribute to the development of solid state quantum computing systems. Work will involve the testing of prototype quantum devices at ultralow temperatures using microwave electronics.

The candidate

The successful applicant should have the following qualifications:

  • Master´s or undergraduate degree in physics or electrical engineering or related areas.
  • Relevant lab experience with cryogenics and/or microwave electronics.
  • Ability to work independently with cutting edge lab equipment with close attention to detail.
  • Strong multitasking and organization skills.
  • Enthusiasm to be a part of a multidisciplinary team on the development of a completely new technology.

Note that this is not a position for an advanced degree but is a research/technical staff position.

Terms of appointment and payment

The position is for one year with the possibility of extension.

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

The starting salary is currently at a minimum DKK 351,887 (approx. €47,250) including annual supplement (+ pension at a minimum DKK 53,811). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
