Department/Unit: Department of Physics Closing Date: Until the post is filled
The Department of Physics invites applications for a position of Research Assistant Professor in quantum sensing, starting as soon as possible. Applicants should have a PhD degree in physics or similar fields and have research experience in at least one of the following fields:
- spin control and detection;
- nanomagnetism; - optical spectroscopy of nano-systems; - condensed matter physics The appointee will work closely with faculty members in the Department in research on quantum sensing using optically detected magnetic resonance of color centers in diamond and similar materials and applications in nano-magnetism and bio-sensing studies. The appointee will be expected to demonstrate a strong record of research accomplishments, potential for establishing externally funded research programmes, and undertake light teaching duties at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
