A Research Associate Position
at the Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP), the University of Tokyo


Okazaki’s group in ISSP is seeking outstanding candidates for a research associate position in
the Laser and Synchrotron Research Center. The successful candidate will collaborate with
Assoc. Prof. Kozo Okazaki, and will conduct research on investigation of emergence
mechanism of novel physical properties like exotic superconductivity using high-resolution
laser ARPES and/or realization of controlling physical properties of materials by light. The
researcher who is interested in these research themes of materials science and develops
advanced laser-based photoemission spectroscopy is strongly encouraged.


The successful candidate is also expected to play an active role in supervising laboratory
activities of the graduate students. The initial appointment is for five years. An extension for
five more years will be considered based on the performance in the first period. The position is
now open, and the term should start at the earliest possible date.


Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field, or otherwise must get
a degree before the starting date of appointment. Applications should include the

2) Complete list of publications (mark three most important papers)
3) Copy of the papers marked above
4) Summary of research accomplishments (up to two pages)
5) Research plan (up to two pages)
6) Letter of recommendation (applicant should arrange a letter of recommendation to be sent
directly from a recommender to ISSP)

Do not attach any documents.) Wait for the message from ISSP including the URL for upload.

(B) Postal mail submission
Send application documents enclosed in an envelope with an on-arrival notation
“Application for research associate position (Okazaki Lab.)” in red on the front. The
