£27511 to £40322 per annum, (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £30942 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

Applications are invited for the above post to work with Jonathan Hirst in the School of Chemistry. The research project will focus on building a digital resource that allows researchers from across the globe to assess proposed chemical syntheses for their environmental impact, enabling scientists to adopt sustainable chemistry into all aspects of research and development. The project, funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, will involve close collaboration with a range of synthetic chemists with a specific focus on green and sustainable chemistry.

Candidates should have, or be close to completing, a PhD in computational chemistry.  A strong background in cheminformatics and machine learning would be highly desirable.

This post is available from 1st December 2020 and will be offered on a full time, fixed-term contract for a period of two years. Job share arrangements may be considered.
