£27511 to £33797 per annum depending on skills and experience (minimum £30942 with relevant PhD).

The School of Geography at the University of Nottingham invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the GCRF funded research project ‘Tomorrow’s Cities’, a £20mn interdisciplinary research hub working to bring multi-hazard disaster risk management into urban policy and practice. The post will support the work of Arabella Fraser, University of Nottingham, and Jon Ensor, University of York.

The post-holder will implement a project already underway to investigate the causes of urban risk production across the four Hub cities and develop a new stream of work for the Hub focussing on the politics of stakeholder initiatives to address risk and resilience. The successful candidate will be working towards, or have, a PhD or equivalent in geography, development studies, urban development or political science and background in the study of disaster risk, climate change adaptation and / or urban development. They will have skills in qualitative research and the ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
