Salary:£27511 to £40322 per annum, (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £30942 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

The person appointed will develop a Magnetic Induction Tomography (MIT) demonstrator that uses design optimisation to improve the reconstruction of electrical conductivity maps of cm-scale objects for a range of application.  

The role will involve the design and construction of magnetic excitation and sensing sub-systems and the demonstration of proof-of-principle-image reconstruction from functioning engineered sensor systems and environments. 

The post will also involve systems engineering and the simulation and delivery of prototype MIT systems in collaboration with our academic, technical, and end-user partners. Collaboration with other theorists and experimentalists, imaging experts and users, researchers from other disciplines, and industry partners will be a vital part of the role.

This post is available from 01 August 2020 and will be offered on a full time, fixed term contract until 31 March 2021. Hours of work are 36.25 per week. Job share arrangements may be considered.
