RESEARCH ASSOCIATE FOR THE PROJECT Cluster of Excellence 'Advanced Imaging of MatteR'-Experimental techniques for soft x-ray phase-control of stimulated electronic x-ray Raman scattering

The positionin accordance with Section28 subsection3of the Hamburg higher education act (Hamburgisches Hochschulgesetz, HmbHG) commences on as soon as possible.This is a fixed-term contract in accordance with Section2 of the academic fixed-term labor con-tract act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG). The term is fixed for a period of3 years.The position calls for 75% of standard work hours per week.


Responsibilities:


Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates mayalso pur-sue independent research and further academic qualifications.


Specific Duties:


Generation of coherent FEL pulse sequences with tailored relative phase distribution.-Development of novel phase masks for two-color control experiments.-Application of these schemes in time-resoved studies using stimulated Raman scattering.


Requirements:

A university degree in a relevant field. Strong background in one or more of the following research areas: x-ray free-electron laser (FEL) science and technology, nonlinear optics, femtosecond spectroscopy, interaction of intense laser pulses with matter.
