RESEARCH ASSOCIATE FOR THE PROJECT “Cluster of Excellence 'Advanced Imaging of Matter' -Quan-tum dynamics of atom-ion hybrid ultracold sys-tems


The positionin accordance with Section28 subsection 3 of the Hamburg higher education act (Hamburgisches Hochschulgesetz, HmbHG) commences on 01September 2019.

This is a fixed-term contract in accordance with Section2 of the academic fixed-term labor con-tract act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG). The term is fixed for a period ofthree years.The position calls for 50% of standard work hours per week.


Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates mayalso pur-sue independent research and further academic qualifications.

Specific Duties:

The successful candidate will work on the nonequilibrium quantum dynamicsof ultracold binary mixtures of ultracold atoms in traps. This includes ab initio simulations using the Multi-Layer Multiconfiguration Time-Dependent Hartree for Mixtures for bosonic and fermionic mixtures. Besides extensive simulations, analysis and interpretation of data a corresponding analytical modelling will be developed to extract close to universal mechanisms and features.



A university degree in a relevant field. Extensive experience in mathematical modelling and interpretation of data in a topical field of modern quantum physics.
