RESEARCH ASSOCIATE FOR THE PROJECT
“Cluster of Excellence 'Advanced Imaging of
MatteR' - Experimental techniques for soft x-ray
phase-control of stimulated electronic x-ray
Raman scattering”


- SALARY LEVEL 13 TV-L -


The position in accordance with Section 28 subsection 3 of the Hamburg higher education act
(Hamburgisches Hochschulgesetz, HmbHG) commences on 1 June 2019 or later.


This is a fixed-term contract in accordance with Section 2 of the academic fixed-term labor contract act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG). The term is fixed for a period of 3 years.


The position calls for 75 % of standard work hours per week**.


Responsibilities:
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.


Specific Duties:
- Generation of coherent FEL pulse sequences with tailored relative phase distribution.
- Development of novel phase masks for two-color control experiments.
- Application of these schemes in time-resoved studies using stimulated Raman scattering.


Requirements:
A university degree in a relevant field. Strong background in one or more of the following
research areas: x-ray free-electron laser (FEL) science and technology, nonlinear optics,
femtosecond spectroscopy, interaction of intense laser pulses with matter.
