The School of Physics is one of the leading Physics schools in Australia. It offers a world class undergraduate physics degree, as well as a postgraduate PhD research program for over 50 students. 33 academic staff conduct theoretical and experimental research in quantum physics, astrophysics, fundamental physics; and condensed matter physics.
The Research Associate (Level A) is expected to contribute towards the research effort of UNSW and to develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to their particular field of research.
This role is based in the School of Physics at UNSW Sydney and analyses and interprets data from deep optical imaging of galaxy groups and clusters with the Rubin Observatory’s Legacy Survey of Space and Time to advance our understanding of intracluster light.
About the role
• $110K - $117K plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
• Fixed Term – 5 years
• Full-time (35 hours per week)
The role of Research Associate reports to the Head of School, Professor Sarah Brough, and has no direct reports.
