About the Opportunity
The University of Queensland invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Fellow to join the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (QAEHS) — a globally recognised research centre within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences.
This position, supported by NHMRC and ARC research grants led by Dr. Fisher Wang, offers the opportunity to advance cutting-edge research in environmental analytical chemistry. The successful candidate will:
Develop analytical approaches for target and suspect analytes in human and environmental samples.
Apply advanced LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) techniques.
Design and optimise sensitive, high-quality analytical methods.
Conduct MS/MS experiments, data interpretation, and quantification of analytes in complex matrices.
Contribute to project design, grant applications, and student supervision.
About You
You will bring:
Strong expertise in mass spectrometry and environmental analytical chemistry.
Demonstrated experience in operating and troubleshooting LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, LC-HRMS, and/or GC-HRMS instruments.
Proven laboratory skills, including sample extraction, purification, and handling of organic contaminants in diverse matrices.
Advanced capability in data analysis and, where applicable, modelling.
(Level B) Evidence of independent research achievement and leadership potential.
