About This Role:

The Chemistry Department at Kansas State University seeks a part-time (19 hours per week) Research Associate. The position is expected to perform research as specified in a government funding agreement. The applicant will be expected to perform the following.

Independently design and perform experiments to understand enzyme mechanisms.
Perform LC/MS experiments and maintain LC/MS.
Write experimental reports and manuscripts for publication.
Search literature and develop research strategies in discussion with supervisor.
Train new students for LC/MS and experimental techniques.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology
Two years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology
Four years lab experience in Biochemistry
Strong publication record
Other Requirements:

Familiar with LC/MS, plasmid construction, cell culture, protein purification, and proteomics
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
