Research Associate in Functional and Anatomical Imaging Connectomics

A position has become available for a research associate with a strong background in functional and anatomical imaging connectomics in the Voon lab. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in connectomics and applications of machine learning techniques and experience with working with large databases. The candidate must have experience with multiple software packages or capacity to acquire background, setting up processing pipelines and be proficient in programming. The individual will be involved in analyses of imaging data from neuromodulation studies, both invasive and non-invasive, and comparison with normative large scale imaging databases. The appointed applicant's background can include engineering, physics, neuroscience or psychology. The position will involve analyses of existing data sets including access to big databases and can also set up their own studies. The position will involve some travelling abroad up to 3 months in a year split over several occasions so ideally the candidates must be comfortable with this. The candidate will have their own projects and be involved in supporting other students in the lab on imaging analyses.

The University of Cambridge offers access to the international excellence of Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre with 3T (Siemens Prisma and Skyra) and 7T (Siemens Terra) MRI and PET-MR (GE) with additional departmental facilities for TMS and M/EEG and access to the University's high performance hub for informatics (HPHI) and advanced analytics. The candidate will have the opportunity to interact with an active community for MR analysis in basic and clinical sciences.

Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in neuroscience, engineering, physics or psychology or be very close to completion/award of same prior to their appointment to the post. The candidate must be self-motivated, organised and flexible.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.
